What We Produce
DMM processes cassava, a resilient and efficient root crop, to produce high-quality tapioca starch. Tapioca starch is a versatile product used in various industries, including food and beverage, meat processing, and spice blending. Our tapioca starch is gluten-free and offers excellent viscosity, water retention, neutral taste, and clear colour features.
Production Capacity and Expansion Plans
Currently, DMM produces 1,500 tons of tapioca starch annually. However, we are working on optimizing our production process to reach an output of 6,000 tons per annum. This expansion will allow us to meet the growing demand for tapioca starch in the South African market, which imports over 22,000 tonnes annually, as well as cater to the needs of neighboring countries like Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia.
